UAE Padel Association coordinates with sports councils to launch a National Padel Championship

In January and February of this year, the UAE Padel Association announced that it would collaborate with sports councils in various emirates to organize a national qualifying padel tournament.

The competition, which will be known as the UAE Wild Card Championship, will prepare competitors for the World Padel Tour. The announcement that Abu Dhabi will host the World Padel Tour – Modon Abu Dhabi Padel Master at Bab Al Nojoum on Hudayriyat Island from February 21 to February 26 prompted this partnership.

Over 200 advanced padel teams from the GCC and the UAE are anticipated to participate in the UAE Wild Card Championship. Six padel tournaments will make up the championship. The winners of each tournament will get “wild card” entries to the World Padel Tour’s “Modon Abu Dhabi Padel Master” pre-qualification round.

In this regard, UAE Padel Association Secretary General Saeed M. Al Marri stated: The UAE Padel Association strives to establish the UAE as a global center for padel and promote the sport throughout the nation and beyond. Numerous of our efforts to achieve these objectives are in line with cooperating with the nation’s sports councils.

Due to the efforts of numerous establishments, councils, and sports agencies to expand its practice within communities and among youth in particular, padel is gaining popularity in the UAE’s sports sector.

“With this in mind, we want to host more regional and international tournaments in the UAE to support the largest number of local padel players and make it possible for them to rise to prestigious global ranks.

“The organization of this national padel tournament will undoubtedly make a significant contribution to the accomplishment of these goals.

“We are pleased to collaborate closely with the sports councils in the various emirates in order to provide local padel teams with the opportunity to benefit from Abu Dhabi’s hosting of the World Padel Tour – Modon Abu Dhabi Padel Master,” which is the most prestigious professional padel circuit in the world.

The UAE Padel Association’s goals of further developing the sport and its players as well as achieving achievements that raise the country’s standing within international padel arenas will undoubtedly be accomplished by offering the opportunity to participate in this tournament to citizens and residents of the UAE as well as players from the GCC who have official rankings from their local padel associations in their countries.

It is important to note that the UAE Padel Association is in the process of concluding negotiations with Emirates Post Group to sponsor the national padel tournaments for the World Padel Tour – Abu Dhabi Padel Master 2023. The specifics of this sponsorship are anticipated to be announced later this week. These tournaments will be held in conjunction with the World Padel Tour.
