Her participation in such a high-profile show will propel her into a much bigger league than the headlines she first made last year when she became the first woman to compete in a Miss Minnesota beauty pageant wearing a hijab. She was born in a camp for Kenyan refugees and is now a citizen of the United States.
Style book of scriptures Vogue said her appearance made her the show’s “most discussed new face” and acknowledged her for beginning a “significant discussion” by gladly addressing Muslim ladies at design week.
Aden told Vogue that her experiences so far had been positive, despite the fact that finding looks that meet her required modesty can be difficult.
According to the magazine’s website, she stated, “My goal is to send a message to Muslim women and young women everywhere that it’s okay to break stereotypes and be yourself.”
She stated to Vogue, “I am so grateful for the fact that I haven’t received any pressure to be anything other than myself.”
During the show’s fifth season, West appeared to recover from a mental breakdown while his family was still recovering from Kardashian’s October Paris robbery at gunpoint.
In addition, West defied the trend and refused to broadcast it live following a mishap last season in which one model succumbed to heat exhaustion.
Since launching his fashion line two years ago, the 39-year-old has presented extravagant shows at venues ranging from Madison Square Garden to New York’s Roosevelt Island.
However, on Wednesday, his most recent collaboration with Adidas was displayed in a more conventional industrial setting in the Chelsea neighborhood of Manhattan, in an area along the Hudson River frequented by other designers.
Guests were warned not to use their phones, take pictures or videos, or post anything on social media; however, those warnings and a few photos ended up on social media anyway.
His usual sportswear was still present, though the clothes were a little different.
High-waisted jeans, shirts, and jackets marked the first appearance of denim on the Yeezy runway.
